The Sea Stinger 1 (SS1) is recommended for pole spears and Hawaiian Slings.
The Sea Stinger 2 (SS2) works well with both pole spears and most spear
guns. Each of these custom, hand built products are made of the finest
materials available. They all use an exclusive patented design that
incorporates an ice pick type point with a quick detachable slip cable. The point is capable of piercing the fishes skin with very little force. The tip causes a tiny puncture wound only slightly larger than the stainless cable. The cable slips out of the body of the Stinger, allowing the tip to turn side ways and capture the fish. When the tip is deployed, the very end of the cable is captured by a locking retainer attached to the body of the Sea Stinger. When the fish is secured, the retainer is simply rotated to align the clearance slot with the cable and the cable and tip are released. The Sea Stingers have four main advantages over other types of spear points. 1. The streamlined super sharp tips penetrate the fishes body with little force. 2. Because there is such a small wound in the fish, the point is not likely to tear out of the body and release the fish. 3. The body of the fish is not destroyed and there is very little blood or tissue released in the water. 4. The fish can instantly be released from the spear and the Stinger re-armed in seconds. Our Sea Stinger Pole Spears and tips are able to catch fish that in many cases would get away were they speared with another device. At the present cost of fish, it doesn't take but a few lost fish to more than pay for one of our Stingers. For a very nominal fee, we offer a rebuild service that many of our customers use. During the off season, we remanufacture hundreds of Sea Stingers, reconditioning worn parts, straightening shafts and re-sharpening the tips. Our units can be rebuilt year after year to a new condition so unless they are lost they will continue to perform for a life time. |
